Modern Day Job Hunting

Today, I read about job hunting and what to expect on a application or resume. Job applications usually ask for a lot of information; ex: social security number, birthday, criminal records, past jobs, and experience with certain things. If you have a good online tattoo, or E-portfolio, this will give you more of a chance to get hired. The military is also a great way to get hired. You must specify what you did in the military and what branch you were in. They'll also ask about your education and if you graduated high school or not.

This video tells you how E-portfolios can help, and how they can cause problems.

Web 2.0 learning blog

Over the last couple of days I've learned a lot about; Facebook and its new update, Twitter and what we can do on there, and how Google+ works. I think if you learn to use these skills, they can help you with many things in life.

Digital Tattoo

A Digital tatto is a reflection of you that is posted on the web/ internet. This shows who YOU are. It could even be used for empolyers to look you up and see if you have and criminal records, or even to see how sucessful you have been in past jobs or schools. It is always good to never post to much about yourself  because someone at anytime could look you up and find some of your personal information and possibly use it.

Protect Yourself!

Have you ever tried searching your first, middle, and last name in Pipl, or LinkedIn? These are two examples of sites that display some of your personal information. In Web2.0 I  learned that you shouldn't put to much information on a website because people could search your name and steel your identity, or find you.

Paintballing and rib cook-off on labor day weekend

This labor day weekend, I went to reno for 2 things. And those two things were, Paintballing at Reno Indoor Paintball, and the Rib Cook-off! Both were really fun to go to and do. I saw some people I knew at the rib cook-off. Paintballing was fun. I played agaisnt Reno's local professional team. They are in the NPPL, or National Professional Paintball League. They had the time to teach me some drills and practice with them. Both of these events were a lot of fun to spend my time doing over the weekend.
